HERS Program Opportunity
Thanks to support from Sr. Vice Provost Ozzie Harris, the PCSW has
received funding to send a woman leader to the HERS—New England,
Management Institute for Women in Higher Education Administration. HERS
is one of the premier leadership institutes for women in higher
education, and we are thrilled to extend Emory's relationship to this
nationally recognized program. Download and complete the HERS
application from the PCSW website
(www.pcsw.emory.edu/hers-announcement.htm) by August 15, 2008.

TAKE OUR DAUGHTERS TO WORK DAY
Forty sixth-graders from Coretta Scott King Young Women's Leadership Academy came to Emory on April 17 in association with Take Our Daughters to Work Day. They were whisked off to classes in women's studies,
psychology, philosophy, business, biology and anatomy, nursing, and journalism. They observed the work of the Emory Police, Human Resources, Emory Creative Group, Marketing, Media Relations, Emory Alumni Association, the Comptrollers Office, and the Center for Women. Their principal told Sam Marie Engle, the lead organizer from University-Community Partnerships, that “the girls have been changed forever. For this day, and perhaps for future days,” she said, “they believed themselves to be capable of anything.”
