MESSAGE FROM THE PCSW CHAIR

I welcome each of the 2008/2009 members of the President’s Commission on the Status of Women, both the new members as well as those who are returning for another year. I hope that each of us will be empowered as we work together toward accomplishing the mission of the PCSW, that of ensuring that Emory University is the best place possible for women students, staff, administrators, and faculty!

Here is a list of some of my personal goals for the coming year:

• I will get to know personally each member of the PCSW!
• I will help each member to find her niche; where she can find ways of putting her positive attributes to good use and learn and develop new attributes.
• I will help each member to feel that this is the right organization to be involved in and that each member knows how important her contribution is in our ability to accomplish our goals and our mission.

As you begin to think about your involvement in the PCSW this coming year, write down some of the goals or objectives that you personally would like to accomplish as a member of this organization. Just remember that being truly involved in this organization is a win/win situation—the PCSW wins because of your hard work, creativity, and diligence; you win because any time that you give of your self your life becomes truly joyful and full of purpose.
